Oshawa's Strong Voice in Parliament

Demand Lower Grocery Costs. Axe the Carbon Tax.

Under the NDP-Trudeau Coalition, scores of Oshawa residents are struggling to put food on the table.

As a result of the NDP-Liberal carbon tax on farmers, truckers, and grocers, the average Oshawa family will be paying at least $700 more for food this year as compared to 2023.

Many are paying far more these days.

In late 2023, Food Banks Canada reported that food banks across our country were visited nearly two million times in March of 2023 alone, an increase of 79% as compared to 2019.

More recently, the Second Harvest charity stated that the problem will get worse. A whopping 36% of Canadian not-for-profits said they're unable to cope with the surge in demand.

Yet on April 1, 2024, the NDP-Trudeau Coalition hiked the federal Carbon Tax by another 23% as part of its plan to quadruple their tax scheme over the next 6 years.

When the NDP leader and Prime Minister tax the farmers who grow the food, the trucker who ships the food, and the grocer that sells the food, they're taxing everyone who buys the food.

Support our call to axe the Carbon Tax and bring down grocery costs.

The Petition

 Whereas:

The Carbon Tax has driven up the price of all essentials including groceries and home heating during a national cost-of-living crisis;

The Carbon Tax will cost Oshawa households far more than they can expect to recover in federal rebate payments;

 Therefore:

We, the undersigned, demand that the federal government to eliminate the Carbon Tax on everything for everyone.
