COVID-19 and Constituency Office Operation
Dear Constituents,
Out of an abundance of caution the House of Commons recently adopted a motion (based on a recommendation from the Board of Internal Economy) that the House remain suspended until April 20, 2020.
This is a precautionary measure aimed at preventing the possible spread of COVID-19 within the Parliamentary Precinct and Members' own constituencies.
With activities at Oshawa's schools, community centres and other large events coming to a standstill, I have decided that my office will, effective today, close for in-person interaction.
However, my staff and I will continue to serve the constituents of Oshawa and we will deliver all of our usual services over the phone, or electronically.
I cannot stress the importance of undertaking social distancing measures and to closely monitor our community's most vulnerable groups, particularly the elderly and immune-compromised individuals. Please check on your neighbours and follow Health Canada's recommendations as well our . As Canadians we've overcome situations like this before -- and we'll do so again.
Should you need to contact my office or get in touch with me at any time, I may be reached by e-mail at [email protected] or telephone at 905.440.4868.
Please take good care of you and yours.
Best wishes,
Colin
